Ingredients

10-12 cups water

2 tbsp sea salt

1-2 heads broccoli

3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

2 cloves garlic

1/3 cup chopped walnuts

500g cooked fusilli or spirali

1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Bring pot of salted water to boil
  2. Wash and separate broccoli into small florets
  3. Add broccoli to boiling water & cook 4-5 min
  4. In a pan warm oil & crushed garlic over low heat 3-5 min
  5. Transfer cooked broccoli to oil/garlic mixture
  6. Add walnuts & 1 cup of pasta water
  7. Continue cooking another 8 min med/low heat
  8. Add pasta to broccoli water & cook as directed less 1 min
  9. Transfer cooked pasta to pan with broccoli/oil/garlic mixture
  10. Toss in the pan over med/low 1-3 min more
  11. Turn off heat, add cheese and serve
